  • I liked the reserve wine enough to decide to pull a cork on the prestige cuvee. In fact nearly identical, maybe a slightly better balanced finish. To repeat what I found on the Reserve bottling: tasty, mid-range Rhone red that drinks very well right now; interesting to compare with my TN from 2 years ago. Deeply colored, very fragrant showing dusty, crystaline cherry aromas (the term pastille comes to mind),some spicy character, noticable but not over-the-top oak. Richly flavored with a sweet attack and soft, enveloping tannics. Surprising acidity for a wine of this density. Long finish.

  • Medium dark purple. Nose runs to pomegranate, beeswax, griotte cherries, coffee, white chocolate. Relatiely light-bodied, fruit is ripe but framed by firm tannins and acidity, relatively short finish. Already drinking well, probably best two years from now. Not a wine to hold for very long; drink from now (or better, 2010) to around 2012.
