  • This is not really how I like my German Rieslings. Too big and warm (15% alcohol!). Nose is nice though with all the classical aromas of a mature Riesling. Rubber, honey, wax, kerosene together with some tropical fruits and browned butter. Medium+ acidity, full bodied but slightly weird and disjointed with a distinct alcohol warmth and a slightly bitter finish. 85-87p.

  • Half-bottle. Popped and poured. The cork was in perfect shape. Nice golden colour. We got pink grapefruit and a hint of honey on the nose. On the palate, the wine showed grapefruit, lots of honey and a slight spiciness. The finish was slightly sharp. The wine had good weight. I liked it (although one can find better value in Germany).

  • A blockbuster with its 15% alcohol, big and concentrated but monolithic and foursquare, fleshy, well-balanced, fruit a bit hidden today, you can sense the quality of the terroir, should be very good in five years' time.
