One of the greatest and most complex Chardonnays I have ever tasted - from California or anywhere else. At first it's a bit lean, even at over 5 years in the bottle, but with some air it begins to show layers upon layers of cream, butter, honeysuckle, butterscotch, lemon meringue, meyer lemon, granny smith apple, bakers yeast, pecan, pastry dough, and so much more. Amazing stuff, and still young.

Complex aromas of white flowers, lite orange liqueur, lemon, creme brulee, minerals, discreet amounts of well integrated oak. Similar flavors, along with some honey and poached pear. Rich, creamy and full bodied. Nice balance and acid. A long and pleasant finish; no heat this time. Paired very well with baked halibut. I can't say how long this will last, but it is delightful and elegant now.

Yellow honeydew and yellow apples with honey. Touches of oak and smoky cedar. Big palate with a little spice not at all cloying or over oaked. Yummy fuzzy peach and tangerine on the nose. Nice acid, a little heat from the alcohol but not much. Real nice with the food.

Peach and pineapple on the nose with some added butterscotch. Viscous and mouth coating. Delightful.

More Acidic than optimal but the finish did come back and make up a little for the bite.
