Drank 2 bottles since my last note on this wine. The first was an enjoyable claret style wine when opened and for an hour or two thereafter, then began going downhill. The second was merely tolerable when opened, stayed that way for a couple of hours, then got prograssively worse.

Paid $14 at pa state store. Decanted 2 hours before dinner (steak and gumbo). At first it seemed like a drinkable claret; nice nose, somewhat acid, not too much flavor. After three hours it started to open up, showing very nice flavor. At three and a half hours the tannins started to take over. Next day it was not good at all. On the third day it was foul--nose just like some ports that have been open too long, and a very unpleasant taste indeed. I have several more bottles which I will let rest for awhile, then try to drink 2-3 hours after opening to see if they similarly peak then decline.

- Violet color and aromas of strawberry. It's balanced and has flavours of strawberry with a medium/full body. Round texture with a long finish.

This wine tasted like it was flawed.

A bit tannic despite ample decanting time, great nose butfalls short on the palate.
