  • In fine shape and still going strong although I would likely have enjoyed this a few years ago when it offered more precision to the spiced orchard fruit flavors. Drink over the next few years.

  • Had a flight of Chassagne Montrachet of 15 different wine across different vintages and wine maker. Interesting to note that for a group of 8 people, most couldn’t have guess the wine maker, all rather most got it wrong. The WOTN or favorite are quite similar representing the quality of the wine maker. And price point of bottle vis a vis the quality is inequitable.

  • The 2007 PYCM Caillerets has already developed good level of maturity and drinking well today. Waxy yellow fruits and buttery toast. Lovely body and saline finish, a hint of dry extract on the palate. Not as exciting as their 2007 Meursault Perrieres. (88/100)

  • 2007 was the first vintage Pierre Yves of completely ageing his wines in 350L barrels. The 2007 Pierre Yves Colin Morey Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets is incredibly bright and energetic, if tasted blind I would have guessed 2011 oldest. Similar to 2011 Caillerets, this 2007 is lean and focused, great acidity and transparency. Drink now to 2040. (90/100)

  • PYCM & CM Chassagne Caillerets (Cabotte, London): Again, a touch of honey on the nose now. Follows through to the palate but cut with lemon and a finely chalky minerality. Lots of interest here. Lovely. ****1/2
