Definitely still has plum and raspberry on the nose. Pronounced Wahluke raisin sense from start to finish, even more so after being open an hour or so. I agree with the original tasting notes from the winery, which called out "black cherry bomb" in April 09. Tannins could smooth out a touch more over the next year or two. I wouldn't call it cool, flinty Syrah, but it's packed with flavor, and appeals more to the Wahluke or even Yakima crowd. Lots of white pepper came through after about an hour. It was pretty tasty with lasagna, better with sweeter meats like Italian sausage.

Another excellent wine from the Neff's of Chelan. A well-balanced wine with hints of chocolate, black cherry, and ripe plum earthiness. The Viognier co-ferment makes for a smooth complex flavor that lingers on the tongue. Will definitely pick up more of this the next time I'm in Chelan.
