Very nice hue; practically no browning. Interesting and complex aromas: Cherries, baking spices, iron and, yes, a little brett... I categorize it as good brett as it doesn't take over the wine, but merely adds complexity. The oak is also apparent but it works! Excellent acidity and still a fair amount of tannins. The 99s really will continue to age well... I consider it a better vintage than 95. Absolutely no hurry to drink.

Still fresh enough, with good color, plenty of fruit, nicely balanced, spoiled by a touch of brett. Some wouldn't mind, or even like the leather/earth, but it killed the aromatics.

Very Gevrey with its animal and fur sensation. Good fruit. Expressive and wide open, like most of 99’s Girardin. Very enjoyable.

Corked.
I could tell there was a nice structure underneath but not much more.

Sour cherry, violets, anise, sous bois; smooth, aged fruits, gradual, extended, velvety, long-lived; relatively simple but deliciously aged burgundy
