Cork still good and decanted for 1 hour. Dark brick color, but still enough vibrancy to show some red. Still has good acid, but not much fruit. Hints of cedar, smoke and minerals. Long finish with good tannins still in place. Surprisingly good for a 32 year old California cab.

13.0% alcohol. This wine certainly is at full stretch. Very nice full red color still. Nose is rather simple, dominated by soy sauce and a touch of cedar. In the mouth, very smooth and texturally quite pleasing, but there isn't a whole lot working here. A hint of fruit left, along with some earthy, tobacco-like complexity. Fun to drink, but not much more than a wine of historic interest and fun for those who enjoy old wines. B-

A private tasting (Restaurant De Ertepeller, Papendrecht. NL): Corked. The only casualty in a magnificent tasting.

Very mature flavors, slight balsamic but certainly drinkable.
