  • The first bottle ordered in one of New Jersey's premier Italian restaurants was corked. The waiter was not prepared to render a judgment and ran off to consult the sommelier. The sommelier returned with a new bottle and said he could taste the TCA, but couldn't smell it in the glass. I must be hyper-sensitive because it screamed from both the glass and the cork itself. The second bottle was proverbial night and day. Without the corked imposition, the wine danced aromatically. It was significantly lighter and revealed truly attractive berry and violet notes that worked in beautiful harmony. Other than the removal of the offensive musty aromas, what was most striking was the impression of powerful delicacy (oxymoron of the day) it displayed despite the 14.5% alcohol. Really quite good.
