Old school mature white Burg- lemon and peach fruit, smoke and hazelnut, a touch of oxidation (appropriate for age). Not the deepest or most complex, but good. B+

Light yellow. Reticent nose of flowers, citrus, a little white fruit, roasted nuts and loads of slate and and stones. Light, almost prickly palate that moves into mineral and tart acidity. Citrus flavors linger and even persist for some time. I found this a very interesting wine that was somewhat difficult to enjoy served with lemon sole in a tomato saffron sauce.

82' 87' 88' Jean-Noel Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet, 85' Batard Montrachet: Groups 3rd - Very pretty with river rock minerality and orchard fruit. Lacking in complexity though the flavors build with some time in the glass and the minerality screams for shellfish. Good.
