Cloudy light purplish red color. Barnyard and wet hay on the nose. Texture is medium body and a little course. Subdued blackberry and sour cherries, iron, leather to taste with bright acidity and a strong finish. Everything hangs together well and this is a really terrific 29 year old wine that is showing well.

really nice wine, my WOTN beating out the Rayas Reservee '08, others had this in second to the rayas, could see the oranging of the wine when pouring but not so much in the glass, still darkish red in color, young and lively but open, on the early side of what should be a 15 plus year drinking window, this was beautiful with med red fruit and hints of spice and tea appearing, rich still and needing more secondary development for my liking... lots of potential for well stored bottles, i have one more to go and hope to wait 7 - 10 years (famous last words of course)

The Underground Blind Tasting Group: Single Vineyard Barolo & Barbaresco (Houston): Light core with noticeable bricking and a bit of an orange tinge at the edges. Despite being the oldest wine in the flight, it was not the wine showing the most age through color. Very delicate nose of flowers (not just roses!), and a rocky, mineral quality. On the palate the wine had a beautiful delicate, feminine character with pure fruits, old leather, and dried berries and herbs. Everything was in balance and showing wonderfully on this night.

This was pretty divisive, some thought it way too oaky, I thought oak intruded, but thought it identifiably Nebbiolo, with structure, needs time.
