  This is a surprisingly good f'n wine from an unheard of region and an unheard of grape. Black cherries and smooth leather with a bit of funk on the nose sums up this wine. High marks for balance of fruit, earth, body, acidity, depth, and length. Didn't get a chance for an extended review but here is my overall impression:
  
  Style & Quality: A-. My first Mencia based wine from Bierzo but it has everything I want from a red wine.
  
  Value: A+. $12 are you kidding me? Almost made me slap yo momma!
  
  Overall: A.
