Very sweet, lots of blue and red fruit, without much tannic structure to back it up. A 24 hour decant defintely helped (And was necessary for the sediment either.
It's no vintage port, but at $30, I'd say I got my money's worth. FYI the cork was quite fragile and broke off with an ah-so.

Quite porty with lots of fig, date, and cooked plum, but also something wonderfully strange and medicinal. There is almost a sense of quinine here, like a very posh Dubonnet. Finish is rich and chocolately with a rather decent length. Difficult to pair, but it's superb with Chocolate. A sort of Maury for the New World?

NEWTS Tasting. D'Arenberg - Style over substance or substance over style (Newcastle upon Tyne): Not for me.
It's big as you would expect. Quite figgy with medicinal notes (germoline?!)
Just odd.
