Surprising amount of fruit left along with a nice nose. Most of my 2003s are past prime but this one still hasn't gotten there. But I would drink my other bottle because this was very enjoyable now.

I really enjoyed this when I had my last bottle in 2009, but this bottle was far more advanced. Lots of prune, fig and other dried fruit, quite sweet, some alcohol laced spice-cake. This is quite spicy with white pepper, pine needle and tons of the garrigue. Actually the more air this gets (consumed across 3 hours) the more freshness and spice this gains.
I don't recommend waiting longer on these, and aeration seems to really help emphasize the spice and vigor over the sheet intensity and ample dried fruit.

the cork was dry which worried me but after pouring thru a strainer the wine was delicious. Kind of an earthy/fruity flavor with light tannins. Nice nose. very enjoyable wine. Don't think it benefits with any more aging

I was surprised this showed so well. Nose of roast beef. Palate of cherries. High tannins. A bit too high for me
