New World Tasting (Crystal Wine): Nose: Explosive, biggest one for the tasting. Very intense dark brooding fruits. Didn't really get any viognier (there's about 1-2%)
Taste: The biggest shiraz of the tasting. Super rich, thick and heavy dark fruits, sweet tannins and spice. For me it was too much of a fruit bomb and over the top.

This wine needs a good 15-20 minutes outside the bottle. Popped and poured and right out of the bottle got a lot of vegetal scents, which masked the fruit. After some time in the class, wine opened up nicely. Nose is presenting bosenberry and maybe a hint of mentho and a slight floral scentl, mouth feel is smooth very little pucker factor. On the palate very fruity, gobs of bosenberry and plum (but not over the top like most Aussie Shiraz), hint of oak, very nice mouth coating, also got a taste of loam which is odd for a Shiraz. Nice wine, very food friendly. Purchased on lastcallwines.com, I love that site, some really great deals.

Jeremy Oliver got this spot on. Step up from both 2005 and 2006 vintage. Colour is dark ruby, On the nose, blackberries, tar, cherry, plum. On the palate, full bodied, blackfruits , toasty oak, rich , savoury mouth feel slightly high in acidity. Very delicious and great bbq red. Another good value fruit bomb!
