Drunk with cheeses. 16.5%. Very dark ruby. Nose of raisins and roasted fig with black cherries and some spices added on the palate. Tannins still evident and plenty of acidity make it very well balanced and easy to drink. A bit of sweetness from the alcohol is evident. While obviously rich, it is not quite as heavy a wine as port can be but I couldn't drink more than a couple of glasses of it. More porty and less elegant than the Quintarelli (see below 9/5/21) but still a very impressive wine. Overall a very robust amarone.
Undiminished after 3 weeks in opened bottle - might last forever!
Final glass from bottle 5 months later (2/10/2023) - still absolutely amazing - more prunes and black cherry now. The sweetness just coming through more strongly than the acidity. No oxidised or tired notes - very much still alive. Quite port-like. This is an amazing wine - fantastic wine making! It will last forever - (well, at least 50 years)!!

Brought to our CWG by Joel. Clear translucent color, minimal briks, long and thick legs sowing the high alcohol content, very complex and nice finish. This was tasted blind and I said Amarone 2008, my brother said old Zinfandel. We all enjoyed it as it felt like a desert wine after all the previous big boys!

Similar to prior note after double decanting for an hour, except not as opulent; still outstanding, ready to drink
