Haven't had this wine in close to 10 years, last one in my cellar. Needed something big to stand up to jambalaya I made for Valerie and the girls...:) Slow oxed for about 20 minutes, drank over 2 hours.
Deep opaque purple, still vibrant. Dark cherry, incense and underbrush on the nose. Palate is aged blackberry, cassis, violets, herbs...through the mid palate earth notes...Northern Rhone like though the finish. Medium body, long(ish) finish. Tannins smoothed.
Last bottle was a distant memory, but I recall a big and extracted style. This bottle aged well, loosing much of the viscosity replacing it with a more nuanced, earthy Rhone profile. This bottle was great, and paired perfectly with spicy food. QPR pretty solid, I paid about $40 for this bottle. Would drink soon as I dont thin it improves. Improved considerably about 30 minutes in...decant if venue allows. Wish I had more...:)

Drinking really nicely here (finally). Big Napa Syrah. No real rush to drink up, but not sure age will benefit.
