HDH Burgundy Auction; 4/1/2016-4/2/2016 (Chicago, IL): Pretty tight nose, with lots of dense small red berries. The palate is slightly sweet, with a somewhat firm unyielding character. There's a nice touch of rust and earth but this isn't too complex or deep. Perhaps not showing all the terroir it could, this is still a very enjoyable and surprisingly open 1996.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction; 4/1/2016-4/2/2016 (Tru Restaurant - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Black and red berries, just a little bretty and not to my liking for something at this age.
