Santa Rita Flight 8/21/2009 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): Dark Cabernet style wine with small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Franc to help round things out. Definitely oaky, maybe too much all the way to overpowering. There are some complex elements like menthol and tar behind the more than adequate dark fruits. Has that typical for Chile, herbal, rustic, wet tobacco, and earthy characteristic. Probably well made and typical to the terroir, but not my cup of tea.
