Syrah & oak on nose. A "cold" smell. Tastes some medicine and syrahfruit , but overall, the fruitness does not balance out the more stringent elements. 7 yrs in celllar too long. (by the way, why not write essential info, like vintage & region, on the front of the bottle?)

Still surprisingly youthful after 13 years. Very nice on a hot day with grilled lamb.

Re-reading my note from last year, I find that it describes the wine very well.

Much better when it was young. Will probably not develop positively.

Expressive nose, initially with animal notes (cow, I'm not kidding), and dark berries. Crowberries, blackberries and animal notes in the mouth.
Medium lenght. Showing signs of some age and hints of complexity. It is a better wine now than it was at my previous encounter.
Exellent match to whale-meat (I'm still not kidding) with a creme fraishe/green pepper sauce
