  • Superlative wine!

However, it’s still tight with acid and tannins that take hours to soften. I popped the cork 6 hours before serving and it still took a decant and more time to finally open up.

When it finally opened it was full of dark fruit, raw cocoa, cedar, cigar wrapper, forest floor, and a long finish.

I’m glad I have one more bottle that I’ll keep for 3-5 more years before drinking.

  • From double magnum. Deep ruby with minimal fading at the rim. On the nose this is exceptionally pretty if just a bit stoic from this big bottle, offering aromas of just ripe black cherries, red cherries, crème de cassis, lavender, perfumed violets, turned earth, vanilla and toast. On the palate this is full bodied and super rich in texture but well-balanced by bright acidity and ripe, plush tannins. Delicious.

  • Gorgeous. Lots of life left

  • Opened wine 4hours ago. No decant. Rather "Slow Ox" the way Lou would prefer it.

    Cellared since release

    Dark core with slight evolution

Moderate aromatics that are starting to evolve. Cigar box, pomegranate, blackberry, bell pepper, cracked pepper, graphite, an a touch savory

MB,MA,SM+T, Mod+Alc, Match, the texture is still gritty and you can but smoothing out. The finish is increasing the longer the bottle is open.

Plenty of life lest in this bottle, make sure you give it enough time to open or you are doing a disserve to quality winemaking

Will revisit in another 3-5 years.

  • Opened for 30 min then double decanted fir 1 hours and start consuming one and a half hour later.

The wine is tight with high acidity and tannins. We poured in another decanter for about 15 minutes and helped a bit to unveil secondary notes and gained in complexity but I think it should benefit from a longer decant or a few more years in the cellar.
