drinking this bottle serves to reinforce the idea that wine is a living thing. opened this bottle on the basis of negative notes from others as well as our own tasting experience with another bottle 9 months ago and no counterveiling opinion. what a pleasant surprise to find that this bottle was alive and well. not as complex as another member described in 2006 but quite good, nonetheless. good crimson color. slight thinning at the edge. the wine bursts with perfume aroma showing off the terroir and the characteristics of the grape. red stone fruit with hints of raisin. light body but firm enough to hold interest in the mouth. nice finish. holds up well to pork cutlet. hurray.

good color but a little transparency at the rim. starts off with a little funk and tired fruit. funk blows off and a little fruit emerges after 5 minutes. not much left in the flavor profile and no finish to speak of. this wine had a very promising future when it was released. i wonder what went wrong. not completely dead. but certainly does not have the longevity as per original projections. will drink remaining bottle in a few months.

On it's way down, drink up. Notes of dark cherries and some raisin and a short finish.
