10 years on the vintage and the wine was still drinking well, but I think it's past the sweet spot. Smokey dark fruit flavors. Not overly complex and seems lighter than the last bottle. Drink now.

Opened for dinner tonight after a bottle of the 2004. I thought this was a bit better than the 04 (but the 04 is still drinking just fine). Good wine as I said I my notes on the 04, but price is just way too high. Not a great value, even though Lambert Bridge is such a great place to visit.

It's been a couple years since I open my last bottle. That bottle was a big disappointment, but a couple of years in the cellar seem to have brought this wine around. Decanted about 45 minutes prior to drinking. Nice aromas of currant and blackberry. Flavors of red berry, currant, plum and a touch of cedar. Powdery tannins and a 30+ second finish. Good balance. Enjoyable wine but still tough QPR. I think I'll give my last bottle a couple more years in the cave to see if it improves even more.

Consumed on a rainy Saturday prior to and during dinner. Nose: big, somewhat overpowering with a nice musty quality First taste within 10 minutes: hits mid-palate, somewhat flat Second taste 15 minutes: opening, more depth 30 minutes: more complexity 1 hour: hints of blackberry and tobacco.

For the price, I wasn't impressed. I've had other cheap Sonoma Cabs that were better balanced and more enjoyable. Two bottles left. Hopefully some time in the bottle will bring them around.
