As suggested by the score of 92, I thought this was an outstanding bottle of wine. Perfectly integrated, smooth, sweet tannins (a phrase I have not used in my two year separation from my cellar). My idea of Bordeaux. Did not need to breathe very much, improved a bit though the bottle, although not very much. I would not decant.
My last.

Opened a 82 Louviere and an 85 Louviere on two consecutive days. Both pnp and finished over about 2h. The 85 looks still in good shape in the glass with just the slightest browning at the rim and otherwise a medium garnet core. On the palate this is however clearly showing its age and is past peak for my taste. Forest floor, a touch of fruit but also some stewed vegatables are emerging here. Tannins completely melted away. Drink up any remaining bottles 88(-) The 82 on the other hand is an amazing success given the Chateau’s relatively modest pedigree and price point. Dark garnet almost to the rim. Impressive concentration of dark fruit and and some soil. Best within the first hour upon opening, with more air the fruit fades a bit and some medium tannins appear together with some more developed notes of leather. Truly great wine but would also drink over the next few years. 93

The cherry fruit is fading here leaving behind a wine that's a bit too heavy on the smoked cigar notes that, paired with a touch of brett, make this a bit of a chore.

Considering the pedigree and level of wine, the bottle was just lovely. Still alive, bricking on the edge but with a core of sweet fruit. Beautiful. Was given as a gift for a birthday, was likely a sample bottle from many many moons ago and was stored professionally.
