  A nice wine. This had a decent nose of red cherries, flowers, earth and a bit of carbonic funk. The palate was where the wine showed its quality though - fine tannins and well-judged acidity, a lovely mineral spine, slightly more reserved flavours of dark cherries, all tinged with a touch of citrus peel and just the tiniest suggestion of minty herb and spice at the edges. Very nice and drinking nicely now.

  Warm, inviting red colour. Quite some oak on the nose. Forest floor, herbs, red fruits, some licorice. Almost a hint of the Rhone. On the palate, a good concentration of fruit. Smooth and inviting. A touch too much oak, and the tannins are slightly too dry for my liking. Much more impressive weight and concentration than other Beaujolais I've tasted. Not an incredibly impressive finish, a bit short and nothing to write home about. Overall, nice depth and concentration, lacking a bit on structure and balance.
