Dark yellow color. Very nice, deep nose of yellow apples, candied lemon, and vanilla - with the ever so slightest hint of Earth. Mellow acidity, after 3 hours of the bottle being open this show opens lemon peel notes with some oak and white pepper notes. Very nice, mature Chassagne-Montrachet ready to drink now.

Decanted for about 30 mins which really helped open the wine up. Wonderful nose of apple and pear with stone as well. Great mouth feel with lively acidity on the finish. Might improve a little, but drinking great now with some air.

--- COLOR: Deep golden honey/amber, almost looks like a Sauternes, brilliant NOTE: This is my first Chassagne-Montrachet, and it is strikingly similar to a number of 2007 Meursault we had on our recent trip to France. I guess the fact that these vines are only a 10-minute drive from each other explains that. Nose is rich, creamy lemon custard with a little burnt sugar, some honeysuckle and other perfumey white flowers, but it doesn't give up much else (duh, it's very young). Mouth is medium+ with nice sweet glycerin to offset the acid, loads of Meyer lemon, tart/sweet pineapple, star fruit, ripe apricot. Even more tropical fruits in the finish (papaya I think!) make this very enjoyable, but it's quite tight and needs time. I would pair this with creamy dishes and drain the bottle. Great with a nice creamy buratta cheese.

Vincent Morey White Burgundy Premiere Crus (Vin, Vino, Wine Palo Alto CA): a more refined version than the 08, less snap crackle and pop than the 08, a little wintergreen that I did not get from the 08.
