  • Medium garnet color. Probably the smelliest bottle of wine I've ever had - think barnyard, meat, blue cheese and cherries. It's really interesting, but even for someone who likes these kinds of flavors it was too much. However, on the 2nd day these aromas had calmed down quite a bit and the wine was really delicious. This wine would not be for everyone, but bravo to the winemaker for doing something different.

  • Very interesting and yummy Syrah from Golden Mile. Color is black/purple, nose is blackberry, asphalt, tractor tire, and orange peels. Palate carries flavors through to a nice acidic finish. Citrus notes are especially interesting to me.

By day two the tar and asphalt funk had faded, and the citrus notes fully enveloped the finish like ruby red grapefruit. Fascinating.
