Passport to Woodinville '05: Enjoyable merlot. ripe rich cherries and berries, chocolate on the palate. good length and character. a slightly offputting vegetal note that kept popping up was the only thing that kept this from going higher. i'd like to retaste at some point to see if it reappears. i could see this reaching up.

Merlot getting a bad rap lately is understandable with some of the waterdown versions, but this is not one of them. A great value, with mocha, silky tannins, nice complexity with a shorter finish, but in a blind test this wine would beat most cabs hands down in the same price range.

Young but fantastic upon opening. Loads of cherr and a little red berry on the front/mid and mocha and caramel on the finish. Moderate finish. Not overly complex, but a great young Merlot.

A solid everyday bottle. Just as good the second day. Good value.
