Hitting it’s stride and in the window. The wine is together with tannins integrated. Nose is plum, prunes, earth, and minerals. Taste is salt and dirt. Harmonious and drinkable.

Surprisingly different experience than the notes below. Well integrated and aged CNDP with a great nose, resolved tannins, the fruit a blend of darker strawberry and herbs w a hint of prune, medium body and a somewhat short finish. In a nice drinking window that may not last for too long but not over the hill by any stretch.

Every time I open this I kick a score and note down the line. Last bottle. Still hot, with a stewed and porty gestalt. Ripe, black fruit and spices and a dried out finish. Time has not done this wine favors and rather exposed it a bit. Solar vintage for sure. 84

Ruby. Licorice, garrigue, and blackberry. Chewy, savory, medium to full bodied wine. Classic big Chateauneuf palate with excellent mix of herbs, anise, and both black and dark red fruit. Really no surmaturité here. Lingering finish of soil, graphite, cocoa. Another in a recent run of 2007's that outperformed my expectations based upon early tastings of the vintage. Not hot or soupy as I feared.

(Paul Autard Chateauneuf du Pape) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-big and dark; raspberry and strawberry; a little tight, but dark; PALATE-the is really good; this has firm tight tannins and will last 12-20 years; this needs a big steak or a roast as this is a very tannic and tight, structured wine; should probably be cellared for at least 3-4 years; a well made wine with a gorgeous backbone; this is very good wine for only $33 bones; WS-93; GV-93
(Domaine Paul Autard Châteauneuf-du-Pape) Dark cherry red color; oak, black fruit, tar, orange nose; tight but very tasty tart berry, blackberry, mineral palate with definition; medium-plus finish (70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Counoise)

hot and stewed fruit - better than my last bottle, but still typical of the over-ripe 2007 CdPs - this bottle was drinkable with food, at least
