Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club": Pinot Noir; Cote d´Or (@ BD): Complex and rustic, mature bouquet with dark and red berries still. On the palate mature and earthy, autumn impressions, caramel and cola, good acidity and a great length. Beautiful and complex wine and still going strong. Impressive!

Remarkably well-preserved for a 35-year old burgundy. The colour remains quite a deep red, though brownish at the edges. Excellent mature nose, with none of the volatile acidity which sometimes mars burgundies of this period. On the palate it is medium-bodied, finishing in a lovely long aftertaste.
Last of a few bottles I bought in the 1990s. We drank the others some years ago, so it was interesting to see how this one had fared. Much better than I had expected! If you happen to come across this wine and the colour and level look OK, it could be worth taking a chance on it.

Did not have great expectations going into it, but this fully delivered a grand cru experience from a stellar vintage. Still robust Crimson color. Very developed nose of smoke, bacon, menthol and lilacs. Much younger palate with surprisingly fair amount of structure and fresh acidity. Sweet liquored cherries and soy sauce dominate the palate. Quite long with refreshing tartness on the finish. I like this quite a lot!

Much better than previous bottles. Bacon, smoke, iron, good fruit balance.
