  • Last Tuesday Supper Club (One Penny Red, Summer Hill): Botrytised, almond meal/marzipan, apricot, orange peel and marmalade, slight oxidative notes. Juicy acid, raisins, orange marmalade, a little toffee, long and, despite luscious sweetness, still retains freshness. Nice.

  • Medium amber, clear wine with considerable tears. A clean, medium plus intensity, developing wine with aromas of nuts, cream, very slight oxidative notes, ripe apples, pears, dried apricots and peach with touches of ginger spice and toast. In the mouth the wine is sweet with high acid, very slight front of mouth phenolic grip, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity with flavours of orange marmalade, ripe apple, apricot, nuts, cream, sweet spice - ginger and cinnamon and some oxidative notes on the long finish. Lovely

  • Apricot and orange marmalade on the nose with a bit of cinnamony spice. Medium to full bodied with medium acidity. Honey, dried flowers, pineapple and cinnamon on the palate. Sweet and unctuous but balanced with nice acidity. Delicious.

  • NC Cindy tasting. Good dark straw color. On the nose, tropical fruits dominate with pineapple, banana, guava and mango all present. On the palate, strong pineapple, citrus (especially orange), apple, and melon flavors, complement some honey and floral notes. Expected sweet at 5 puttonyos, this was also quite sharply acidic. The NC Cindies wanted to contrast Tokaji with Sauternes, so I popped both. It probably would have been better to wait on both.

The profile is consistent with prior notes, though, so that makes me feel good.
