d'Arenberg with Chester Osborn (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Black cherry and berry, strawberry, leather and earth, dry on the palate with coarse grained tannic burr on the middle of the mouth, the fruit (joined by blackcurrant) and mousse play second fiddle and there tertiary notes (leather/earth) and are joined by a little foxey note. Slight alcohol warmth completes the picture.

Well made, good fruit, but more tannic and drier than is my preference for this style

Simple party wine with notes of candied red fruits, bubble gum and some liqourice, medium acidity, a bit astringent though.
Chill well and pair it with barbecue, even better if used to make Sangria

11/13/2020 - Bearbus Does not like this wine:
Pruney, Porty, gently herbaceous-vegetal and slightly hot on the palate, tempered by fizz and cold. Not again
