Integrating dark fruit with ripe graphite/licorice notes. It expands in the middle and takes some time to work its way across the palate due to moderate acidity and light/no tannin but finishes appropriately fresh. Overall full for barbera, ripe and satisfying. Nice wine.

Leather saddle, black pepper, bramble fruit, smoke, a bit of brettanomyces and heat in the background of the nose. The palate is layered with rich, dark fruit that isn't quite to the point of baked but definitely lies in the background behind some kind of savory note. Overall, a well-balanced wine with a great personality.

Nose is subdued on this but has an earth, moss and musk scent. Cherries and raspberries dominate the flavors of the mid palate with just a hint of nutmeg showing through. This finishes with a tart acidity and dry and dusty tannins that are not overly intrusive. This is a pleasant QPR and very good when paired with a good rich hearty fare.

Not as earthy as some Barberas. Accompanied spaghetti well the first night and pizza perfectly the second.
