Superb. Perhaps the first red burgundy that truly called to me. Wonderful blend of lightness and depth. Darker cherries, perhaps a little cinnamon. Great texture, mouthfeel and balance. Lacking only perhaps in layers of complexity but nonetheless very enjoyable.

PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs -med dark red mild bricking -somewhat restrained -really beautiful balance with med acidity and med- weight, somewhat fading beetroot and black cherry fruit with a suggestion of brown spices, very elegant if not overly complex, has a touch of rusticity on the finish -gorgeously balanced lighter framed elegant darker fruited, drinking great now in a plateau that should hold for several more years; this producer has lived in the lower end of the ripeness spectrum thus likely keeping them below the radar, but nearly every bottle I've tasted from the '99-'05 vintages has been outstanding within this style...just can't find it anywhere any more

Stewed and overripe cherry, along with moderate oak are the dominate aromas. But underneath there are hints of earth and spice, which keep this interesting.
On the palate, firm, spicy, moderate weight. The fruity is fresher, but still stewey. pretty, polished tannins, moderate oak.
