Yamhill-Carlton District AVA tasting at The Portland Armory: Very nice fruit and earth, almost candied, and just a bit of booziness poking through. Very fruit forward on the mid-palate, but integrated and not overpowering Very REAL red fruits, with some spice. Nice soil component on the finish and a bit less fruit. Very nice, and for the price, a great value.

Opened and let it sit for awhile. Lovely nose with palate of cherry and subtle spice notes. Nice acidity. My last 2006 and it held up beautifully.

Solid bottle of wine, I should have moved through the 8 I bought a bit more slowly, but what can you do?

Yep, still nice wine. Still more dark cherry than bright.
