Beautifully mature and evolved Chardonnay. Some oxidation, which I found very pleasant. Plenty of nutty and almond notes. Chardonnay meets sherry. A hint of caramel. Subtle fruit (some yellow apple, some white peach?) in the background. Oak also (thankfully) subdued and in the background. Beautiful acidity. Wonderful with food.
I will revisit in a year or so. I think this will drink well for a while.
So happy to find some CA Chardonnays that age well and I actually enjoy.

This showed signs of oxidation, especially on the nose--lots of nutty, almond tones on top of the white fruit. Nice feel & only somewhat muted flavors in the mouth, this wasn't terrible, but was certainly off by a bit.
I'd check in soon or drink up if still holding.

My last bottle of this vintage :( First half with broiled halibut, second half of bottle with spicy Thai curry fried rice with chicken and Hunan chicken. Wish I had more. Medium to long finish, just enough oak (for me, anyway). Don't drink this wine very cold - it opens up when it warms up a little and all the citrus comes out. You might think it's a sauvignon blanc otherwise!

Wonderful stuff. See notes for previous bottles of Auteur Hyde 07's.

Substantially more youthful and less evolved than last bottle, but almost as good. Great balance. Auteur's Chardonnays age remarkably well.
