Full body, deep ruby color. Intense ripe fruits and herbal aroma. Dried plum palate, medium long spicy finish. Complex and balanced. Drink now and next couple years.

"Har'el" is the 2nd label of the Israeli boutique winery Clos de Gat. But this 2nd label has become a major league wine in its own right, competing in terms of QPR with its more prestigious sibling. The fact that it is a Merlot and not a Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah adds some more QPR points. Impenetrable ruby red. Rich plum, modest quantities of spicy oak, mouth coating tannins leading to a long creamy berry-loaded finished of mocca and warm Mediterranean spices. Tasting blind, I would not have guessed this was a Merlot. Still a (too) young, with a great future ahead of her.
