Tasted at the winery. Very tight and restrained, especially when compared to the Solare. An old fashioned Chianti Classico whose style was a surprise given the modern style and layout of the winery. Levander, earth and liquorice on the nose. Mid-bodied with firm and dryish tanins that need cellaring. Fresh red fruit and high acidity. Long finish. From 2015.

Ultimate Parker in Singapore Mega-Tasting (The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore): A bit hard to judge at this point. Plenty of quality, but very tough at the moment. Nose was a little tight, but really nice. Plums and earth were mixed with savoury minerally scent and dried herbs. Palate was even more tight-fisted. There was clearly some pure fruited sweet cherry flavour, and decently fresh balance, but all that was buried under layers of tightly-wound, very firm tannins. Clearly well made, but the finish was almost indecipherable, with tannins coating the mouth so thickly that they needed to be scraped off with some champagne after!

World Gourmet Summit: Chianti Classico Wine Fair (St Regis, Singapore): Nose: Thick and robust nose. Beautiful greens and basil notes on the nose, mixed in with fruit. One of my favourite noses of the event Taste:Elegant and delicious sweet cherries (not fake ones) on the midpalate which lingers to the end. Nice and complex with earth tones.
