Lamb, in my admittedly very narrow view, always call for Bordeaux. Fortunately I still have a few laying around although I rarely buy them these days.
Fine ruby red with a hint of brick on the rim. The aroma reminds one of libraries and books and old drawing rooms - an encouraging sign. I found it to be a little coarse on the palate: notably astringent wood note with a deficit of fruit to counterbalance it. I would not describe it as past its prime but maybe no real prime to achieve.

Drank over the course of 4 days. First day, the wine was muted and hollow, but fleshed out nicely by day 4. Medium nose, good concentration, tart red fruit with mineral and a little grit. Medium finish with firm tannins.

still bright and showing little age in glass. Merlot dominates the nose, which has mulberry fruit and hints of smoke. On palate, less impressive as tannins and acidity outweigh the fruit

Drinking well. Dark ruby, blackberry pie nose, med-full body, flavors of plum and tart blueberry. Nice finish with silky tannins, mineral, tar, and good acidity.

This has fleshed out nicely. Dark ruby, med-full body. Plum, graphite & mineral flavors, nice finish.
