Some red and dark fruit and cherry but lighter and not as complex as our prior bottle. A good pairing with our roast rack of lamb. This bottle drink now (or perhaps even earlier, as it may have entered its decline). The August 2018 bottle seemed to have much more time.

A private dinner with friends (at home): Magnum - a very kind gift from Frank. Mature but lively appearance; sweet and glossy cherry fruit on the nose, spicy depth; lovely Pomerol typicity on the palate, crushed red berries and earth, energetic and fresh, medium body, slightly chewy tannins; touch of milk chocolate on the finish, good resonance and length. Not the most complex of wines, but drinking very well after a decade.

Red and dark fruit, blackberry, cherry and currant plus some earth, tobacco and mocha. We had this with roast herbal chicken and local potatoes and it was a good pairing.

Loads of black spice and minerality. Palate is light but with lots of tannic backbone.
