  • Seems fully evolved at this point. All earthy and savory on the nose and palate with forest floor, mushroom and leather. Still a little bite of acid to keep it together a couple more years but I see no reason to wait. Great wine...maybe a point or two higher if it had any fruit character left.

  • You must decant this wine!! When opening, the oak is overpowering & the alcohol is dominant even though it is 13.5%. Fruit is fading and now is more savory than fruity. But after 30 minutes in the glass the remnants of dark fruit along with forrest floor, spice, cabernet become more dominant.
Probably time to drink up. Reasonable finish & intriguing nose.

  • From 375ml. Ruby with warmish brick color persistent to the rim. Dark roasted fruit, some dark berry and earthiness on the nose with some dissipating alcohol. Hitting its stride right now with dark berry, some oak-softer tannins, nicely integrated acid and alcohol. Berry profile and other flavors rounded out after and hour or so. Nice lengthy finish. I was left wondering about some of the oak and considering the Bordeaux blend was it necessary for an Italian wine maker to do that, despite the fact that some many riservas get oak? What would this wine have been like if there wasn't any oak? More of an International style, bigger flavor profile wine without a big number for alcohol. Forgive my rambling - I still am a big fan of this wine!

  • Tasted with many other italian delights. Cab Franc shows nicely. Very thoughtful blend from 2 families; Landini and Scaramuzzi. Made me crave carpaccio.
