  • Nothing wrong with this wine except that it is 100% Tempranillo, which for me is just about the most one dimensional wine grape around that is sold in huge quantities. If not heavily oaked it is singular in flavor. With the new oak aging you add vanilla and other oak derived flavors. I know this is harsh but this wine is a prime example. Slightly bitter, relatively thin texturally, flavored with oaky vanilla and some cherry. Very short finish. Parker pushed wines like this in the early 2000’s and I made the mistake of buying some. It hasn’t gotten better with age. Not flawed, not oxidized, just a wine that lacks any appeal for me.

  • very nice treat, opened up after a couple hours, medium berries, slight chalk, needs a few more years for the next bottle
