Dark purple. Unmistakable sense of place on the nose: Rutherford dust, leather, blackberry and even a little mint. Palate is round and rich, but a little flabby. Tannins - if there ever were any - have completely resolved, leaving a squishy core (hence the reduced rating). Sure to be a crowd pleaser at this point, but not much left in this one.

Whatever you do, DECANT! I opened this bottle on day #1 and it was pretty good. Had another glass on day #2 and it was sublime. Tasted this side by side with another highly respected Cali wine and this one won hands down. Wife agreed that it was a great wine.
