  • According to the producer this wine is made only in the best vintages, but as the wine sports a continuous line spanning at least a decade, that must be just promotional BS.

Medium-deep yellow-green color. Very ripe, almost sweet nose with rich aromas of pineapple, peach, apple jam and some woody oak notes. The nose is quite heavy and ponderous, lacking freshness completely. On the palate the wine feels very ripe and fruit-forward, yet showing surprisingly nice freshness with its moderate acidity. There are flavors of juicy red apple, very ripe peach and spicy oak notes. The oak character isn't that pronounced and it exhibits mainly some savory, slightly spicy wood notes and subtle hints of sweet vanilla. The finish is quite long, but only oak-wise: the fruit departments withers away quickly, leaving savory, somewhat nutty, a bit fudgy and slightly bitter wood notes behind.

A decent, surprisingly balanced and sophisticated new world Chardonnay. Although the oak aging is quite obvious, this is far from excessively wooded oak monsters - the emphasis is definitely on the fruit sector. Probably the wine can even develop some more in the cellar, although not for a long time. However, at 22,10€ the wine feels very overpriced - this is a perfectly drinkable effort, but pretty one-dimensional, not showing that kind of depth, complexity or interest one would expect from a new world white priced over 20€. At half the price this would be a good purchase.

  • Golden colour, strong perfumed nose of peach and vanilla. Fresh acidity on the attack but leaves a strong nutmeg and matchstick, even petrol, aftertaste. Rather persistent and artificial, which destroys the otherwise pleasant balance. Medium length. Would be a nice fruity Chardonnay of not for the strong singular taste.
