  • Bought from WTSO in 2007. I don’t drink much PS but figured it was this bottle’s lucky day. The corkscrew slid upon entry so I knew I had a bad cork. Uncorked as best I could but eventually a strainer was needed. Decanted and let rest for An hour. Pairing with roasted chicken with tomatoes and garlic Noticeable sediment resting in the neck of the bottles. Perhaps the reason why the cork imploded. Poor storage. My bad.
The aroma of the wine is amazing. Exploding with cherry and dark plums. Medium bodied. Dark ruby red color. Initial tasting notes feature blackberry, Dark fruit and spice as mentioned by previous reviews. Tannins are super balanced smoothe throughout the pallet.

Back with tasting notes after dinner.

The acid in the tomatoes brought some vibrancy back to the tannins. Finding black pepper on the mid palate. Dark Chocolate squares were for dessert. The sweetness of the chocolate introduced super dry tannins and brought a different element to the experience Late aromas present a very Russian River bouquet. Cant describe it , but if you love RRV, you know what I mean. The tannins are super mellow during the last sips. The journey through this bottle was fun.
I’m hoping that there is one more in the back of the cellar. . Cheers!

  • Oh man this is so good! Still youthful, with a healthy red hue. Layered with fantastic savage notes of bloody meat, pepper, smoke and plums. The tannins are accessible but in no danger of falling apart. Lingering savory finish. My last bottle and I wish I had bought more from WTSO at $15. NOTE: Lots of sediment, so decant.

  • Thanks to the other notes and my previous bottles, I know to filter this before drinking to defeat the large amount of sediment. The wine is opaque purple and heavy on the tongue. Dark fruit and spice predominate. The flavor is rather straightforward and simple, but not unpleasant. The tannins were firm and relatively smooth. A good QPR and perfect for drinking with beef cooked on the grill.

  • Drank over 2 nights. On the 1st night things got real interesting about 45 minutes in when the dark fruits, spice, tannins and oak really came together to make for some nice wine that would fit right at home on a crisp fall or winter night. On the 2nd night things were less interesting and the fruit almost had a jammy thing going on which I wasn't really feeling.
