Deep purple, rich aroma, round and integrated minimal gripping tannins, with modest acidity, erupting with a delicious and big personality of blueberry pie, spices as well as subtleties of clove, chocolate, vanilla and clay pot. Who says Paso won't age!!! At least 3 and maybe up to 6 years left. Shared at 52 birthday party, bought on release. Easy 98 / Incredible

This wine is proof that Eric Jensen is wrong in that his wines do not age well. Very youthful in color, on the nose, and on the palate. A bit jammy on the nose - blackberry compote, with a hint of vanillan oak. Sumptuous mouthfeel. Great balance (big wine), but plenty of acid to balance the tannins and fruit. I like this wine!

Decanted the night before. Blackberry and coffee flavors have depth and richness but the overall impression is that this bottle is testy, probably did not get enough sleep. Acid, alcohol, and still substantial tannins are waging a war in the back palate while the fruit is still trying to clear its head. A bold wine that seems disjointed now but hopefully has time to coalesce.

Really BOLD. Could use a few more years in the cellar. Potential to be a beautiful wine but not yet.
