  Redcurrant, cherry, wild flowers, a strong iron element and a touch of damp earth. Medium bodied. Steely, fresh finish full of bright red fruit. A couple of hours adds blackberry preserves, a savory edge and black pepper. This has aged so much better that the other (higher alcohol) 03 Novy Syrahs. The healthy acids give balance and zip.

  A savory nose of grilled herbs, violets, camphor, red currant, a little cassis and asphalt. Smooth, nicely weighted on the palate with wild berry and a touch of chocolate. The peppery finish that has a nice amount of nervous energy without being overly acidic. Apart from a touch of tire rubber this wine has shed its reduction and is showing the best since release. All the pieces seem to be well integrated at this point. Drink soon.

  Bright nose of red currant, blackberry, game, a touch of steminess and strong floral element. There is also a blood/iron aroma that is almost steely. A plush well balanced palate of wild berry, grilled meat and pepper. Lots of acid and pepper on the finish. I cannot decide if this has improved since release. It seems less reduced and the grapefruit has gone but the acid level is rather elevated. I think drink sooner than later.
