for the life of me i can never remember indigenous varietals from alentejo/portugal in general. but one really doesnt need to when drinking this one. it looks (medium bodied), smells (gamey with crushed bright berries) and tastes (light tannins, tea, cola, berries) like a burgundy! will make a great teaser in a blind tasting. loved every drop of it! serve it in a pinot glass and sit back and take in all the guesses your oenophile friends make.. ;)

Nose: quite gamey. Dark, earthy mineral. Blackcurant jam and toast, licorice. Palate: lovely fruit - homemade blackcurrant jam, blueberry, spice, damson. Very long, nice balance of acidity, medium body, don't feel alcohol too much (14.5).
