Hennepin Lake Tasting; 10/20/2010-11/12/2010: It is hard to believe this is one of the top Minnesota wines actually grown in Minnesota. It had a paint thinner quality to it along with damp earth. Short finish. At $22 a bottle it is hard to believe anyone would buy these wines.

Tasted this wine again (we had previously drank a bottle of the 2006 vintage) at the winery and this time both my wife and I found it to be agreeable and certainly the best of the red table wines. While I still doubt that this would become part of our normal wine drinking line-up, it does demonstrate that it is possible, in certain instances, to make an enjoyable red wine from grapes cultivated in Minnesota.
