Bought this bottle at the Napa Valley winery's tasting room for $22 and drank with leftovers from the previous night (fried chicken and fennel slaw). We actually opened this bottle during last night's dinner party and finished today, so today it wasn't 100% fresh, but it's not as if we had opened it a month ago either. This is another very nice Sav Blanc from Napa, Napa Valley's OTHER white wine (Chardonnay is king in Napa (as far as white wine goes), but Napa also makes fantastic Sav Blancs as well). The nose is typical Sav Blanc (herbs especially), with classic citrusy/herbally/grassy flavor profiles, especially the zesty citrus notes (it may have been the interaction with the fennel slaw, but I also denoted a hint of rosemary as well). The wine is well-balanced, with a crisp, clean finish. Personally, I've about had it up to HERE with Chardonnays (though I love/appreciate a fine Chardonnay as much as the next person). During the summer months (which we're entering here in So Cal), you cannot beat a nice Sav Blanc. I've had better, but this Sequoia Grove Sav Blanc is VERY nice. Definitely recommended.

Grass and herb with a hint if citrus. Nothing better on a hot day than a SB.
